I have been looking around for the best early childhood education for my 9 months son. With the wealth of information available online as well as privileged wisdom from my closest friends, I guess I must say that I am spoilt for choice. Amongst the names that frequently crop up are SHICHIDA METHOD, GLENN DOMAN, TWEEDLEWINK and TUMBLE TOTS. Being kiasu as I always have been, I decided to embark on a journey of detailed study/research and visits to all of these centres. Although the study is yet to be concluded, I have a good general idea of what these programmes are all about. Good thing that all of the programmes are available in MALAYSIA. After reading books written by Glenn/Janet Doman and Pamela Sue Hickein, talking to the programme promoters, there is only one conclusion to be made.Early childhood education is important and it begins even when your baby is in the mother’s womb. Since childbirth to 3 years old, the focus is on developing the baby’s right brain. After that it’s about right and left brains and the bridge between the two brains. The most optimum time to teach babies/toddlers is from birth till 6. What we are doing is stimulating the brain pathways. There are various ways for you to stimulate the baby’s brain cells/synapses, the easiest way is through talking lovingly with the baby. Others involve activities that will stimulate the babies six senses i.e. sight, sound, hear, touch, taste, resonance (sixth sense). I will write more on each of the above programme methods in my next post as the focus of this post is on the importance of early childhood right brain education. But flashcards, listening to music, perfect pitch, photographic memory, memory linking, mandala, ESP, Power of Suggestion, Movement, Eyetracking are some of the methods suggested that can improve the brain cells connectivity. So now is my plan. Already registered him for his TWEEDLEWINK CLASS at NEO DAMANSARA, DAMANSARA PERDANA (once a week) and starting my own GLENN DOMAN flashcards (reading and maths) at home during the weekdays. I also let him listen to classical music from time to time (Mozart, Bach, Pachbel, Beethoven) on my iphone. I hope this is enough till he’s 1 1/2 years old (18 months), where I am hoping to register him for some daily pre-school, the likes of INSIGHT KIDS or SMART READER. Oh yes, I am putting him through YOUR BABY CAN READ (YBCR) process by Dr. Bob Titzer too.. :) Before I forget, here is a chance for you to grab wonderful early education products based on Shichida and Tweedlewink methods at superbly low prices. Just so happens I got to know the person himself and he is willing to give my blog readers a discount. Just click on the banner and use the DISCOUNT CODE. Happy learning!!!
